Raised in the suburbs of St. Louis, Steve Banks has spent most of his life in the Midwest.  At the age of 5, he started taking piano lessons and by the age of 10 realized his natural ability to improvise.  From that point on, Steve began using his musical talent by performing at school, church and city events.  Many musical influences ranging from Christian to pop artists helped shape his style.  With many chances to be on stage, Steve sharpened his ability to entertain and communicate with audiences.  But his faith has had the most influence on his life, which is evident in his music through a distinctive, emotional touch and feeling that seems to make the piano keys speak.  Physical challenges through the years including 3 surgeries on his right arm and hand along with melamona cancer have caused Steve to rely on his strength from God.

Steve attended colleges in Kansas City and Dallas where he further sharpened his abilities and received additional serious training.  Since that time, Steve has performed concerts across the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to thousands of people and has appeared on several national television shows.  He has won numerous awards including 2nd place in the piano category of the National Christian Artist’s competition at Estes Park, Colorado.  Steve has completed 5 recordings and will soon be releasing his first recording of original compositions.
